Welcome to the home of JeffK photography

Here you will find info on my photography...new and old. I do mostly nature and things, but also try to catch the right expression on a family member or stranger. At some point I'll be adding some scans of film slides from my high school photo lab days. Hope you enjoy.

Blue Sky

This was a spur of the moment shot from my deck. We were enjoying the day, talking photos, and I looked up and saw this jet going across the sky above the trees. I was amazed of the outcome. I had my Sigma 70-300 on the D80.

News on Matt

Sorry...no new photos today, but news on Matt. His creatinine level is dropping, and swelling is going down. We had quite a scare but it seems the only logical explanation was high sodium intake most likely at the prom. The sonogram showed no kidney malfunction, latest blood work indicates good prograf level, and just a slight protein in his urine. We'll have to keep an eye on things for a bit, and now I can get back to working on the blog and photos.

Matt

Well, we spent the whole day at Westchester Medical Center, with what should have been a normal 2-3 hour visit. Matt's nephrologist wanted us to get a blood draw at 8:30, then go to the office at 11:00. Sounds easy. Usually we do the office, then go to lab for blood draws. Today was opposite. First a little background...Matt's lower legs and feet were swollen on Saturday, and his pressure was higher than his average readings. I thought it was excessive dancing at the prom Friday night at West Point. His doctor thought maybe his Prograf level was too high, and was prepared to the dosage. It was too high because I forgot that he should not have the Prograf before a blood draw. It was quite possible that Matt ate something at the prom really high in Sodium, Really high! So now we have to go back down next week for another blood draw. Good news is that the swelling is down, and his pressure is also reading lower. But Dr. Weiss says we still need to be concerned of rejection, which is normally a slow declining process, and not an overnight one. So, we are going to a wedding in New Jersey on Saturday May 22. I'll post some pics Monday. Jeff

My son Matthew

He is looking out the front window in the livingroom. Matthew contemplates a lot.

Buttery yellow

From the butterfly bush in front. These flowers look like butterflies, but I have not seen any butterflies coming to it...yet.

Lonely beauty

This flower was growing on the side of my house..I added an HDR look to this for effect.
